Italian Serie A- Inter Draw With Napoli 0-0

In a hard fought game, FC Internazionale could not beat Napoli in the twenty-fourth round of the Italian Serie A. The match ended with a tied score at 0-0.

During their visit to San Paolo Stadium, Inter could not develop their game plan, while Napoli, in the meanwhile, surprised their rivals with a powerful and aggressive game.
From the first minute, the home team took control of the ball, putting pressure on its opponents, who could not advance and had to limit themselves to playing in their area.

The Napolitanos made Inter suffer; the latter team simple couldn't play at its best. The Azzurri dedicated themselves to attacking without mercy, fought hard to keep the ball, and rejected anyone who attempted to advance into their area.

Napoli took Inter players out of control, made them lower their rhythm, and at the same time, dominated the team in a way it hasn't experienced this season. It made quick plays, attempting to cross Julio Cesar's goal.
There were several occasions that Napoli had an opportunity to score. The first was a pass from Slovakian midfielder Marek Hamsik to Argentine Germain Denis, who, in the excitement of the moment, failed to take a shot. The host team had another chance to open the scoring when Denis directed a powerful headshot that was nonetheless detained by the Nerazzurri goalkeeper.
Inner appeared surprised by Napoli's performance in the first half and tried to balance their game at the end of the period. The visitors changed their game plan and tried to surpass the local defense to get close to their rival's area.
Inter's opportunity came when Dutchman Welsley Sneijder made a corner kick that was received by Sulley Muntari, who didn't quite clear it hard enough, and the ball hit the left post of Morgan De Sanctis' goal.
This was the scene that closed the first half, which was characterized by Napoli's dominance.
In the second half, the Inter team seemed more than a little fatigued after an intense game in the first half. However, the players tried to manage their offensive game.

Gianluca Grava and Walter Gargano were in charge of maintaining control of the game for Napoli. With the game more balanced, Inter tried to open the scoring, using Goran Pandev and Diego Milito.
Milito sent an excellent shot to Napoli's goal, but he found himself blocked by De Sanctis, who immediately detained the shot. Pandev missed another direct shot, again deflected by the local goalkeeper.
Both teams continued to attack and tried to score, but despite strong efforts on both sides, neither could achieve the objective.

Despite missing the three points for victory, Internazionale was able to add one point as a result of the draw and remain comfortably in first place of the Serie A standings. Inter has 54 points, followed, from a considerable distance, by AS Roma with 47 points.
